About the teachers
Hello! My name is Sandy and this year marks my 7th year of teaching and my 11th year of working with children. This is my 3rd year working in the GSRP program at ATA. I have also taught at Head Start and in parochial schools. I have my Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Concordia University, Ann Arbor. I also have my Master's of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education from Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti.
When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. I love to attend concerts and sporting events. Health and fitness are a very important part of my life. My favorite vacation spots are Mackinaw Island and North Carolina. I also enjoy decorating and settling into my new home in Newport, Michigan.
Hi! My name is Jennifer Walden. I am one of the teachers who will be working with your child this year. This is my fourth year with the GSRP program and my 12th year of teaching in the early childhood field. I have worked in a variety of preschool programs, from private daycares to government funded Head Start programs. I completed my Associates degree in Child Development at Henry Ford Community College in 2010. I went on to complete my Bachelor's degree in Child and Family Programs at U of M Dearborn in August of 2013. I love working in the early childhood field and helping to educate the minds of our future generation. I am looking forward to working with you and your child this year.
